Tiger Woods will not be at the Masters next weekend after being charged with drunken driving following a rollover last week, Augusta National President Fred Ridley said Tuesday.

Woods has pleaded not guilty to charges stemming from the crash and his subsequent arrest. Ridley later released a statement, revealing that Woods would not be in Georgia for the event.

“Augusta National Golf Club and the Masters Tournament fully support Tiger Woods as he focuses on his well-being,” Ridley said. “Even though Tiger won’t be joining us in person next week, his presence will be felt here in Augusta.”

There was a chance Woods was looking to compete in the Masters as he returned to competition in the Golf League days before his fall. However, the accident in Jupiter Island, Florida, led to driving under the influence with property damage and refusal to submit to a Blood Alcohol Test (BAL).

Woods told law enforcement he had been distracted before the crash, according to an affidavit obtained by PK Press Club Digital. The affidavit also stated that a search of Woods revealed two hydrocodone pills in his pants pocket.

He submitted to a breathalyzer test after being booked into the Martin County Jail, receiving a result of 0.00 on both samples. However, he refused to submit a urine test, resulting in another charge.

TIGER WOODS’ EX-WIFE ELIN NORDEGREN ‘CONCERNED’ AFTER DUI ARREST FOLLOWING ROLLOVER ACCIDENT: REPORT

This is Woods’ second drunk driving arrest in the past decade. He was also taken into custody on Jupiter Island in 2017 after falling asleep behind the wheel of a moving vehicle at 3 a.m. after taking prescription medication.

Woods was also involved in a rollover accident in 2021 that resulted in serious leg injuries and emergency surgeries, something he was alluding to during field sobriety tests.

Woods released a statement earlier Tuesday, saying he would “seek treatment.”

“I know and understand the gravity of the situation I find myself in today,” Woods said in a statement posted on social media. “I am taking some time off to seek treatment and focus on my health. This is necessary for me to prioritize my well-being and work towards a lasting recovery.
