- Tim Cook teases ‘a big week ahead’ in article on X
- Apple has already confirmed an experiment that will take place on March 4
- Cook notes that the news will begin on Monday, March 2
Ahead of Apple’s confirmed March 4, 2026 experience — which has invited media, creators and guests including TechRadar — CEO Tim Cook teases “a big week ahead.”
It’s quite a tease, and Cook goes further in an article on X (formerly Twitter), writing: “It all starts Monday morning! This suggests we could see multiple days of announcements leading up to the March 4 experiment rather than a single event. This will likely be where Apple introduces the full new lineup, which is rumored to include new iPads, a follow-up to the iPhone 16e, and several new Macs.
The latter is expected to take center stage, potentially headlined by the long-rumored low-cost MacBook, and the attached teaser video shared by Cook certainly seems to support that theory. Here is Tim Cook’s full post on X.

This also isn’t the first time Cook has teased products and news about X. In 2025, he teased both the arrival of the iPhone 16e and the new iPad and MacBook by saying something was in the “air.”
This time around, rumors about a new entry-level iPad and iPad Air, successor to the iPhone 16e, and several new Macs are circulating. The attached video shows a hand playing with a shape to form an Apple logo in the same silver color found on many Apple products, including Macs.
I mean, it’s hard not to see the surface as the back of the top lid of a MacBook Air or Pro, as well as the top of a Mac mini or Mac Studio. Although one could also say that the hand playing with the elements of the logo to create the final shape alludes to gestures, I don’t think that’s the goal here…at least not yet.
At the top of the rumors is the alleged arrival of the low-cost MacBook. This long-rumored device would represent a new entry-level option in the all-in-one portable Mac family, and at a significantly lower price. It’ll probably come in at $699 with a similar shape, hopefully paired with a much more colorful version, and rather than an M-series processor, it’ll use an A-series chip that can still run macOS, and probably quite well.
Adding to the supposed fun color options for this low-cost MacBook is the fact that the press invites for the March 4, 2026 event with Apple logos in several colors – yellow, blue and light green. Beyond a low-cost MacBook, it is likely that Apple will take advantage of next week to deploy the M5 Pro and M5 Max chips in the 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pros.
For the iPad, we expect an update quite similar to what the entry-level iPad and iPad Air received in early 2025. It would be a processor upgrade for both: the iPad Air would receive the M4 chip – offering even more performance in a great build – and the new base iPad, which would be the 12th generation, would receive an A18 chip. This would speed things up with the A16 chip and also enable support for Apple Intelligence.
Finally, based on the reports and rumors – and the timeline – we’re pretty confident that the iPhone 17e will arrive next week. This mid-range iPhone would succeed the iPhone 16e and would likely keep the same overall build, but speed things up with the A19 processor. This same chip powers the iPhone 17 and should deliver a fast experience, even if it’s a slightly less powerful variant – consider losing a core or two.
Of course, there’s always a chance we could see something else revealed, and Tim Cook says it’ll be a big week. Could this mean we’re seeing a next-generation Studio Display? Or potentially upgrades to the MacBook Air, Mac mini, or Mac Studio? Time will certainly tell, and we only have a few days left until Monday, March 2, 2026, when TechRadar will report on all of this, along with our expert analysis.
