- Tineco Floor One S9 Scientist is a new damp drying vacuum
- The magnetic flap at the front of the head of the soil acts as a raclette to eliminate excess water
- Also has a Fresh Retro Style Pixel Display
I saw a number of wet and dry vacuum cleaners at IFA 2025, but the one that stood out from a design point of view is the new scientist of Tineco Floor One S9.
We are fans of this range – another Tineco model is in place n ° 1 in our overview of the best wet and dry vacuums on the market – and this new addition has a particularly cool design and very useful features.
The head of the ground has a flap that passes along the front edge. It contains magnets which mean when it is pushed forward, it lifts itself to allow all debris to feed in the roller. When the machine is pulled back, it descends and acts like a raclette, wiping excess water – the Tinesco line is that it leaves the surfaces “barefoot” almost immediately after cleaning. It is a simple but very intelligent addition, ensuring that your hard floor becomes a complete cleaning without finishing too wet or slippery.
For difficult or dried stains, you can also activate the “Hydroburst” function, where the S9 will draw a high pressure water jet from the front of the floor in the problem area, ready to be rolled and raclette.
Other useful features include an integrated gyroscope that acts as a car differential, adjusting the speed of individual wheels for gentle turns with a minimum of effort, automatic suction and adjustment to the water, an impressive execution time of 60 minutes and an ultra-acting self-cleaning mode.
However, which really marked me when I saw the scientist S9 in person was the design “cyberpunk”.
It’s hard to make a cool wet soil cleaner, but I think Tineco has managed it here. There is a retro style display at the front which uses large pixels to transmit key information – a ring that changes color to indicate when the S9 detected dirt on the ground, a battery icon to show that it is loaded, etc.
Scientist Tineco Floor One S9 should be sold later this year in the United States, with a list of $ 799 (TBC). It should also be available in the United Kingdom and Australia at the start of next year, but I have no price planned for these countries. It is alongside the steam of the artist S9, which is a sister model with a more common, less retro design and a vapor function.
