Samsung’s Galaxy Z TriFold mega smartphone was a flagship device, but just three months after its release, the tech giant is discontinuing it, and today is the last chance you’ll have to buy it if you missed it the first time.
Today, Samsung will restock its online store with its final batch of Galaxy Z TriFold devices in the United States after ending sales in South Korea following its final restock last month. It’s likely that this restock will be an opportunity for Samsung to sell off the last of its remaining trifold smartphones, but those will sell out quickly.
Although rather high production costs were one of the main factors for the discontinuation, Samsung never intended to release the Galaxy Z TriFold as a permanent device in its Galaxy smartphone lineup. When the company first put the smartphone on sale, it was limited to customers in the United States and South Korea, with the first two allocations having only 3,000 units each, severely limiting availability.

That said, Samsung shared a statement with us last month saying: “The Galaxy Z TriFold was introduced as a super premium device in limited quantities. In Korea, strong consumer response led to the sale of all available units. Customers from other countries still have the option to purchase the device.”
With the final restock approaching, this is your last chance to get your hands on one of the most sought-after gadgets of recent years. But be careful, it will sell like hotcakes, so it’s best to come up with a game plan to get ahead of the other determined customers in the queue.
Here’s how to increase your chances
As shared by u/ELITEtvGAMER on Reddit, there are a few indicators to note.
First, you’ll want to create a Samsung store account before the sale – there’s nothing worse than being asked to sign in or create an account during the most crucial steps of checkout. And the same goes for payment methods.
If you are asked to enter payment information during checkout, the Galaxy Z TriFold may be removed from your cart during this time, as simply adding it to your cart does not guarantee purchase. This is different from sites like Ticketmaster which reserve selected tickets in your cart with a countdown.
Don’t know how to add your card details? You can try adding an item to your cart (preferably something inexpensive in case you accidentally process the payment) and checking out to save your information that way, as the Reddit user suggests.
Once you’ve logged in and saved your payment information in advance, the next thing you can do to ensure a smooth experience is to familiarize yourself with Samsung’s online store and payment process. This way, you’ll know how many steps you’ll need to take and how quickly you’ll need to act to ensure you bag the Galaxy Z TriFold before it runs out.
