Tom Brady took on one of the biggest challenges of his post-playing career in 2024. He invited comedians, celebrities and his friends to roast him in front of the world.
Brady recalled doing the show during an appearance on “The Big Podcast with Shaq,” saying he wasn’t mad at the jokes directed at him. He said he knew what he was getting into and talked about hosting the event three years earlier with Jeff Ross.

“No, I wasn’t angry. Because I think, like a lot of people, I like to be made fun of. Because when they make fun of you, you know they’re comfortable with you,” Brady told the NBA legend. “They’re comfortable with you if they make fun of you, then you know you’re really friends. I think people who never make fun of you, ‘Oh, that’s so wise,’ man, is it real or not.
“In a locker room, all you do is make fun of people. I did all the Gronk jokes, Julian (Edelman) and everyone. When we did that in the roast, it’s funny because you know all those guys doing that are your brothers.”

Although the NFL legend wasn’t angry about any of the jokes, he did express some apprehension about the event from earlier this year.
He said in May that he had “regrets” because it was “hard” on his children because some of the ribs were intended for their mothers, Bridget Moynahan and Gisele Bündchen.

“They’re protecting their mother, their father, everyone. They’re like, ‘What’s the point? Why did you do that?’ You live and you learn,” he said on “IMPAULSIVE.”
