It’s hard to believe that Tom Brady left the NFL for almost two full seasons after building a career that may never be duplicated.
Brady faced the difficult choice of opting out of the league and moving to the other side of sports in the world of broadcasting. He played 23 seasons in the NFL between the New England Patriots and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, finishing with seven Super Bowl titles.
One of his biggest counterparts, Aaron Rodgers, will be put through the same mental gymnastics over the next few weeks as his career hangs in the balance. Rodgers played most of his career with the Green Bay Packers, but also played with the New York Jets and Pittsburgh Steelers. On Monday night, Rodgers’ career may have ended with a playoff loss to the Houston Texans.

Brady, during the unveiling of Fanatics Studios in Inglewood, Calif., was asked if he had any advice for the four-time NFL MVP.
“It’s up to each individual to determine what they want their future to look like, and Aaron will have plenty of opportunities in whatever he does after his career,” Brady told PK Press Club Digital. “But he’s had a great career and whatever he chooses, I’ll be happy for him because it’s the right thing for him.”
Brady has become a mainstay in the sports broadcasting world since hanging up his cleats as he and Kevin Burkhardt are the No. 1 announce team for FOX NFL games. He heard a ton of criticism during his first year about his broadcasting skills and whether he could be as good in the booth as he was on the field.

During the second season, sports media pundits and fans agreed that Brady showed tremendous improvement, highlighted by his analysis of how quarterbacks should throw in windy games.
He spoke about his time at PK Press Club Digital.
“You know, my mother said that too,” he said with a smile. “You know, it’s nice to get more comfortable. Like all of us, you start a job and you don’t know what you don’t know and your first year there’s a lot of learning. And look, this year I learned a lot too. I’m constantly tinkering with my preparation.
“But you know what I love? I have the best team at FOX Sports. I have the best bosses. They give us so much guidance and support. The #1 rated studio show in America for the last thousand years. Our football show has been a kickass. I have a great team that I work with – Kevin Burkhardt, Tom Rinaldi, Erin Andrews. I love working with them. All of our directors, producers, our camera people, everyone in the behind the scenes, our graphics teams, we have the best sports team and I love being a part of it.
Brady will be back on the field playing flag football in Saudi Arabia in March, which will air on FOX.
What is he looking forward to most?
