Last month, legendary NFL quarterback Tom Brady’s CardVault store in New York had nearly $10,000 worth of trading cards stolen.
The New York Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying a person wanted in connection with a serious theft incident that occurred at CardVault by Tom Brady in SoHo on October 20 shortly before noon.
Authorities say the suspect attempted to use a credit card to pay for merchandise, but once the transaction was declined, video surveillance showed the suspect began manually entering prompts into the contactless payment terminal without the employee’s knowledge to bypass the declined transaction.

“The wanted individual is described as a male with a medium complexion. He was last seen wearing a black baseball cap, black hooded sweatshirt, black shorts, white socks, white sneakers and carrying a multi-colored bag,” New York police told PK Press Club Digital.

“We see that many customers are interested in our individual cards or our simple cards,” Costa told PIX11. “I think Pokémon in general is a very popular category with a very broad demographic.”
Costa added that there is a way to track the cards once they leave the store because “they are unique or serially numbered.”
CardVault has its own dedicated loss prevention team that works alongside the NYPD.
