Warns that such unjustified aggression could undermine ongoing peace efforts and an environment conducive to dialogue
Military leaders on Tuesday strongly condemned recent Iranian attacks on Saudi Arabia’s petrochemical and industrial complexes, calling them an “unnecessary escalation” that threatens to spoil mediation efforts aimed at ending the Middle East crisis.
Iran previously attacked a petrochemical complex in Saudi Arabia’s industrial city of Jubail, located in the Eastern Province. The Foreign Office expressed “deep concern and unequivocal condemnation” of the missile and drone attacks.
In a statement issued today, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said the army top brass also condemned the attacks during the 274th Corps Commanders’ Conference at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi.
“The forum noted with concern and vehemently condemned the latest attacks on Saudi Arabia’s petrochemical and industrial complex, calling them an unnecessary escalation that spoils sincere efforts to resolve the conflict through peaceful means. The forum noted that the restraint and calibration that Saudi Arabia has shown so far, despite serious provocations, has enabled mediation and diplomatic resolution. However, such unjustified aggressions have serious repercussions, spoiling ongoing peaceful options and an enabling environment,” the ISPR said.
