The 49ers of San Francisco would have concluded an agreement on the first major trade in the NFL offseason. According to ESPN, All-Pro Deebo Samuel will head east and play for Washington commanders in 2025.
The 49ers should receive a choice of recovery of fifth round in exchange for the star receiver, according to the report. Earlier this week at the NFL Scouting combines, the director general of the 49ers John Lynch confirmed that Samuel asked for a job. Lynch said the team had planned to “honor” the request.

Samuel spent the first six seasons of his NFL career with the 49ers after the team selected it in the second round of the 2019 NFL draft.
He won the honors of the first All-Pro team and a selection of the Pro Bowl after finishing the 2021 season with a career summit of 1,405 yards. Samuel and the Niners have entered into an agreement on a three -year contract extension after this out -of -competition season.

Samuel missed two games last season, but he had a notable production deposit when he was on the football field. He ended the year with 670 reception yards and 136 yards on the ground while San Francisco came across a disappointing file of 6-11.
Samuel spoke to the 49ers Kyle Shanahan heading coach from the team’s outing during the offseason, and then had a conversation with Lynch.
“Then he came and spoke with me and we had a very honest and frank conversation,” said Lynch. “He told us his reasons. I asked him to sit on it, to sleep on it, and we would do the same. We did it, and we told him that he could go talk to people.”
Like any other agreed exchange now, this agreement cannot be processed before the start of the new year of the league on March 12. As part of the agreement, Washington takes the rest of Samuel’s contract and paid for his full salary of $ 17.55 million for the 2025 season, Screces in Schefter told.
