Trans Athlete Battle: Trump Admin comes to the title IX agreement with Wagner

The American Department of Education announced on Friday that it was concluded with an agreement with Wagner College on the issue of biologically male trans-masline athletes in female sports. The agreement cites a viral incident where a female shooter Stéphanie Turner Known to protest against a trans shooter who competed for Wagner, during an American fencing event.

Wagner agreed to apologize to all his female athletes who faced the Trans athleteRedmond Sullivan, according to the announcement of the DOE. The school will also adopt a new biological definition for men and women in its sports programs, according to the announcement.

From images from Turner to his knees to Sullivan at the opening of Cherry Blossom in Maryland became viral in early April. Turner received a black cart, the most severe penalty in sport, for its refusal to close Sullivan, disqualified from the event and treated a probation of 12 months.

Sullivan did not represented Wagner during the event.

Wagner later told PK Press Club Digital that Sullivan was no longer part of the fencing team. The NCAA had changed its eligibility policy between the sexes to respect the decree of President Donald Trump on the issue in early February.

But now Wagner complies directly with Trump’s administration to tackle the incident.

The agreement occurs only a few weeks after the University of Pennsylvania has entered into a similar agreement during the controversy of Lia Thomas 2022.

“In the heels of our agreement with the University of Pennsylvania, the Trump administration obtained another historical agreement of the title IX with the Wagner College. After Stephanie Turner, a female athlete, bravely took a knee and lost a fencing match against a male competition in a female category, our office for civil rights has launched its investigation into the Wagner College and the University of Maryland, has been organized.

“Due to the leadership of President Trump, the tide turns on the campuses of our country. We congratulate the Wagner College for having worked with the department to repair its damage to female athletes and guarantee that future generations of women and girls have equal chances.”

The Ministry of Education has provided a list of conditions:

  • Wagner will modify its athletic policy to adopt definitions based on the biology of “male” and “female” words in accordance with title IX;
  • Wagner will publish a public declaration to the college community indicating that it will comply with title IX, specifying that title IX prohibits Wagner from allowing male students to participate in female sports programs and to occupy intimate female facilities;
  • The declaration will specify that the title IX applies independently of any current or future policy which could come into conflict with the declaration, and that Wagner will not delegate his obligation to comply with title IX to an external association which discriminates the base of sex;
  • Wagner will publish the declaration in a leading location on its main website and on each of its websites for female athletics;
  • Wagner will cancel any orientation that has authorized men to compete in women’s athletics, to delete or revise any declaration or interior document and accessible to the public who does not comply with title IX, and informs all the staff and female athletics teams of all these cancellations; And
  • Wagner will issue a personalized letter of apology to any feminine of Wagner College and will publish a public declaration of apology to all the female athletes who were to compete with a man in a Wagner athletics program designated for women.
  • According to the agreement, Wagner examined if a male athlete student participates in female athletics for Wagner College received individual Wagner sports records or sports competitions and determined that no recognition of this type had been received.
