While Maine continues to challenge President Donald Trump’s executive decree to ban the trans sports athletes, the administration has increased its accent on the state as one of the main battlefields on the issue.
Earlier this week, the Office of Civil Health and Social Services (OCR) officially announced that it had found the Maine Ministry of Education, the Association of Maine Directors and the Greely High School in violation of title IX for its continuous activity of transcusion in sports in girls.
Today, the acting director of the OCR, Anthony Archeval, provided a statement to PK Press Club Digital Warning of the potential consequences of the continuous distrust of the decree.
“What HHS is asking for the Maine Ministry of Education, the Association of Maine Directors, and Greely High School is simple – protecting the rights of female athletes. Girls deserve sports reserved for girls without male competitors. And if Maine will not come to the table to voluntarily comply with the law,” said Archeval.

The initial announcement of HHS according to which the entities had violated title IX also warned that the State had 10 days to correct its policies thanks to a signed agreement or reference risk to the United States Ministry of Justice for an appropriate action.
The Trump administration would have recently made its wish to reduce federal funding to enforce the decree. Fox Business said on Wednesday that $ 175 million in federal funding at the University of Pennsylvania had been interrupted on its previous inclusion of Trans athletes in female sports.
Last week, a temporary break was placed on the funding of the Ministry of Agriculture at Maine University System, PK Press Club Digital reported. This funding has since been restored.
Now, Archéval’s warning comes one day after the main maine association published an answer to the Trump administration declaration that the State had violated title IX.
“The alleged violation is due to the AMP policy which is the direct result of the mandate of the acts of human rights of Maine that athletes are authorized to participate in the teams that align themselves on their gender identity. MPA policy is in accordance with the law of the state of Maine,” said the answer.

“The determination that the AMP has violated the title IX first requires that the MPA be liable for title IX due to the reception of direct or indirect financing of the federal government. In short, a small part of our funding comes from 151 member schools which receive the majority of their financing from local land and state tax. The vast majority of our financing comes from the sale of tickets, sponsors, No jurisdiction of title IX on MPA.
HHS noted a violation notice to Maine State On February 25 and said that the State had violated title IX by allowing Trans athletes to participate in girls sports, PK Press Club Digital reported. HHS then extended the scope of the survey to include the association of managers of Maine and Greely High School.
Maine became a focal point on the issue after the state legislator Laurel Libby stressed that a biological man had won a girl for girls for girls for Greely High School in early February.
Trump then promised to reduce the funding of the state for refusing to follow his order on February 20, during a meeting of the GOP governors.
Governor Janet Mills’ office responded with a declaration threatening legal proceedings against the Trump administration if it retained federal state funding the next day. Then Trump and Mills verbally overwhelmed in a largely publicized argument in the White House during a bipartite meeting of governors.
Only a few hours after this interaction, the United States Ministry of Education has announced that it investigate To allow Trans athletes to participate in the sports of girls and for the potential violations of the title IX.
Meanwhile, Libby has since been censored by the state’s legislature since his first social media position which stressed the Trans athlete, and she filed a complaint in order to have the censorship canceled.
The controversy even prompted a protest against Mills called “March Against Mills” outside the Maine State House on March 1.
