New York – President Donald Trump arrived at the Yankee stadium on Thursday and spoke to the New York Yankees before their anniversary of September 11 against the Tigers de Detroit.
Trump landed in New York shortly after 6 p.m., and a few hours earlier, Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Trump met the clubhouse team before the match.
Trump entered the locker room about half an hour before the start of the match, calling the Steinbrenners a “big family”.

“It’s a big family. [Team president] Excited [Levine] is wonderful, and I would say that you will win. George used for any reason, I don’t know what it was, we won every time I came. Each time I came, we won a match. If you think it was easy, sitting with him for a match, that was not the case. It was brutal. We were exhausted at the end. But we have won and you will win. You will go to the end. Can you enter the playoffs? I think. How about tonight, we start tonight, and you will do well.
“Randy told me that the Boston Red Sox came to the Oval Office. They wanted to come. What am I going to do? Say right? And they won 15 games in a row. I just want to wish you a lot of luck. You are great players. I know each of you.”
Trump then shakes everyone’s hand in the clubhouse, a joking that he wanted the judge to be “a little bigger”.
“If you have so much muscle, you have to hit the ball further down,” said Trump. “You are a fantastic player.”
Trump arrived in his suite shortly before 7 pm to initially a mixed ovation, but slightly the majority of this were cheers. Big American songs finally struck. He did not participate in the pre-match ceremonies of September 11.
Yankees manager Aaron Boone said he was “excited” about Trump’s presence.
“Had the honor and fortune of certain presidents over the years, the first throws or anything. So, the fact that he will be here, I am delighted to be part. I do not know what it will look like, but to interact with him for a few minutes, something I am waiting for,” said Boone.

Thursday was the first time that Trump attended a major league baseball match since the World Series 2021 between the Astros of Houston and Atlanta Braves after his presidential mandate. Before Thursday, his last match as an exercise president was in the 2019 World Series between the Astros and the Nationals of Washington.
Trump announced earlier this month that he would attend the match. The Yankees announced it on Wednesday and urged fans to arrive early and take public transport. The doors opened at 4 p.m., 90 minutes earlier than normal.
Before Trump’s arrival, the Yankees dashboard showed highlights of the 2001 World Series between Yankees and Arizona Diamondbacks. The Diamondbacks won the series in seven games, but Yankees’ victories in matches 4 and 5 ended with dramatic walks, less than two months after the September 11 attacks.
Already guaranteed to have an increased presence, following the assassination of Charlie Kirk, the security was stimulated throughout the stadium with the secret services and the sniff dogs outside the doors.
Boone, Gerrit Cole and Carlos Rodon set a crown at the September 11 monument to Monument Park earlier on Thursday.

Next season, the Yankees and New York Mets will compete at the Yankee Stadium on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the attacks. They played at Citi Field on September 11, 2021.
