Trump National Doral returned to the PGA Tour program.

The Miami Resort held by President Donald Trump will organize a PGA Tour signature event next year with a $ 20 million handbag during the first weekend in May. The tournament will fall in the middle of a six -week section that begins with the Masters and ends with the PGA championship.

There will be three signature events staged within four weeks between these two majors.

“We are delighted to present the biggest players in the game in competition in the most emblematic golf places,” said Brian Rolapp, CEO of PGA Tour.

A title sponsor for what is currently called the Miami championship has not yet been determined.

Doral was first part of the PGA Tour calendar in 1962, but after Trump bought the complex, he had trouble constantly securing a title sponsor. The tour finally moved its Trump Doral event to Mexico City in 2016, which prompted the candidate for the presidency of the time to notice: “I hope they have kidnapped insurances”.

While the PGA Tour has moved away from Trump Doral, the Golf Liv supported by Saudien kissed it, organizing tournaments there in each of the last four years. This sequence will end, however, in 2026, although Trump National, just outside Washington, DC, will organize a Liv event.

Before Liv Golf stops in 2025 at Trump Doral, the 47th president expressed optimism concerning a potential merger between the two rival tours.

PGA Tour Commissioner, Jay Monahan, even nicknamed Trump the “facilitator” earlier this year, while discussions between the leagues continue without a finalized agreement more than two years after his announcement for the first time.

“In the end, I hope the two tours will merge. It will be good. I am involved in this too,” Trump said in April. “But I hope we are going to merge the two tours. You have the PGA Tour and the Liv Tour. And I think it would merge would be a good thing.”

Monahan echoes this feeling in March.

“These discussions are real. They are substantial, and they are motivated at the main levels of the two organizations. These talks have been considerably strengthened by the will of President Trump to serve as a facilitator,” said Monahan.

“President Trump is a golf fan for life. He firmly believes in the power and potential of the game, and he was extremely generous in his time and his influence to help conclude an agreement. He wants to see the game in reunification. We want to see the game together and his involvement has made the prospect of the reunification very real.”

The new Miami championship will start the week of April 27, 2026, with the first round played on April 30.
