Washington: US President Donald Trump launched a bitter attack on “illegal” media and his political enemies on Friday, as a speech by the Ministry of Justice, transformed into a diatribe filled with grievances.
Trump – The first criminal sentenced to sitting the White House – was to talk about the law and order in an organization supposed to be isolated from political pressure.
But instead, the 78 -year -old republican spent a large part of his time repeating the complaints that the predecessor Joe Biden had “armed” the department against him and committing to “exhibit” his enemies.
“Our predecessors have transformed the Ministry of Justice into a ministry of injustice,” said Trump. “I am in front of you today to declare that these days are over, and they will never come back.”
Since his return to office, Trump has brought a hammer to the Ministry of Justice, who previously carried two criminal cases against him, including one for having pretended to cancel the results of the 2020 elections.
But in his speech, he has sworn to go further and investigate his enemies, saying: “We must be honest about the lies and abuses that occurred in these walls.”
He said that his administration “would expel the rogue actors and the corrupt forces of our government, we are going … Exposing their flagrant crimes a lot and their bad misconduct”.
Trump has reserved a special anger for the American media who cover it critically.
Addressing an audience of prosecutors and agents responsible for the application of laws, Trump said that the broadcasters Cnn And MSNBC And unidentified newspapers “literally write 97.6% bad about me” and “he must stop. It must be illegal”.
He described the media as “political weapons of the Democratic Party. And in my opinion, they are really corrupt and they are illegal. What they do is illegal”.
‘Fake News’
Trump has made attacks against the American media a central part of his message since his first election to the presidency in 2016 – describing them as “enemies of the people” and “false news”.
Since the start of his second term in January, Trump quickly moved to put pressure on the consumer media like The Associated Press While stimulating access to the White House for right -out points of sale formerly fringes.
