President Donald Trump threatened to hang up the plans of Washington commanders to build a new stadium at DC in the balance if the team does not return to the nickname of the Redskins.
Trump on Sunday exerted pressure on commanders and Cleveland Guardians – calling the two organizations in two articles carried out on TRUTH Social.
“My declaration on Washington Redskins has completely exploded, but only in a very positive way,” wrote Trump in a second social article. “I can put a restriction on which if they do not change the name in the original” Washington Redskins “, and get rid of the ridiculous nickname,” Washington commanders “, I will not agree to build a stadium in Washington. The team would be much more precious, and the agreement would be more exciting for everyone.”

The president added that the guards should follow suit.
“Cleveland is expected to do the same with the Cleveland Indians. The owner of the Cleveland baseball team Matt Dolan, who is very political, lost three consecutive elections because of this ridiculous name change,” added Trump. “What he does not understand is that if he has changed the name of the Cleveland Indians, he could actually gain an election. The Indians are treated very unfairly. Make the Indians again (Miga)!”
Paul Dolan is the owner of the team. Matt Dolan has a minority participation in the organization.
PK Press Club Digital contacted the commanders to comment.
Trump made the initial request for the teams to change their names earlier on Sunday.
“The Washington ‘What’s’ should immediately change its name in the Washington Redskins football team. There is a big complaint for that,” Trump Social Trump on Sunday. “Likewise, the Cleveland Indians, one of the six original baseball teams, with a legendary past.
“Our great Indians, in massive numbers, want this to happen. Their inheritance and their prestige are systematically removed from them.
Guardian president Chris Antonetti responded to Trump pressure in the middle of the afternoon. He said it was not something that the organization had in mind.

“But I would say that generally, I understand that there are very different perspectives on the decision we made a few years ago,” he said via Cleveland.com. “Obviously, this is a decision that we have made and we have had the opportunity to build the brand as Guardians in the past four years and we are delighted with the future.”
The Guardians had no additional comments on Trump’s articles.
The owner of the commanding team, Josh Harris, joined Trump, the mayor of DC Muriel Bowser and the commissioner of the NFL Roger Goodell in the Oval office when the agreement for the RFK stadium website was announced.
Congress legislators supported Harris to return to the old stadium site provided that the team and the NFL honor the former Redskins logo. Senator Steve Daines, R-Mont., Said in November that he would support the organization in the future with his plan after “good faith negotiations” with the two entities.
“We called leaders in the event of really, Woke went wrong,” said Daines at the time. “The irony that they canceled the Amerindian culture as a movement of I went too far. But Harris clearly indicated in an interview on the “special report” of PK Press Club Channel that he was not planned to bring the names of the Redskins.

“The names of the commanders actually took an incredible element in our building,” said Harris to the Bret Baier’s question on the names of the Redskins which goes up as part of this new stadium agreement. “Thus, people that certain types of players are hard, who love football, are delegated commanders and Jayden [Daniels]For example, is a commander and they are classified.
“And, you know, corporate staff have entered, and obviously, we are in a military city here. There are more military staff than everywhere else, so we are moving forward with the names of the commanders, excited about it, and not looking back.”
