Boston: US President Donald Trump said his administration could conclude a “historic” agreement with Harvard University over the next week to resolve the White House campaign against the oldest university in the country and the richest.

The possible agreement occurs while the two parties remain locked in a legal battle concerning the cuts and restrictions on financing for international students. Trump suggested that talks with the university are going well and that a regulation could be announced soon.

In an article on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump raised the possibility of an agreement with the Institution of the Ivy League, which filed a complaint after its administration cut billions of dollars in Harvard and moved to prevent the University from admitting international students.

The administration of the Republican President said that his actions against Harvard were justified by a range of allegations, including the claims that the university had not done enough to combat anti -Semitic harassment on the campus.

Trump said his administration was attacked “irregularities” at Harvard. He added that university individuals “acted extremely appropriate during these negotiations and seem to be determined to do what is good.”

“If a settlement is established on the basis which is currently being discussed, it will be” historical of the mind “and very good for our country,” wrote Trump.

He made the declaration shortly after a Federal Judge of Boston published an injunction blocking the American department of internal security to immediately revoke Harvard’s ability to register international students.

This injunction prevents the department from revoking Harvard certification in the student and visitors’ exchange program without first undergoing an administrative process of several months, which it now plans to follow.

Harvard made no immediate comments on Trump’s post, but said in a statement that he had welcomed the ordinance of the American district judge Allison Burroughs, the addition “will continue to defend his rights – and the rights of his students and academics”.

Harvard, based in Cambridge, in Massachusetts, brought two prosecutions to overflow around $ 2.5 billion in funding and prevent the administration from preventing international students from frequenting university.

Harvard alleges that Trump retaliates against him, violating his rights to freedom of expression under the first amendment of the American Constitution, because he refused to comply with the administration’s attempts to influence the governance of the university, the study program and the ideology of his staff and his students.

Judge Burroughs is expected to reign in the coming days on Harvard’s related request to continue to block the implementation of a proclamation signed by Trump which prohibited foreign nationals from entering the United States to study at university.

International students represent about a quarter of the Harvard student body.
