- Trump says the tiktok agreement “puts America first”
- Oracle will be responsible for data management in the United States
- Larry Ellison, Michael Dell and Lachlan Murdoch could all be involved
President Trump said that he and Chinese President Xi Jinping “approved the tiktok agreement” after months of negotiations, with several heavy American investors are said to be at the forefront of the US Chinese Agreement.
Speak with Fox News After Trump’s statement, American press secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed: “We are 100% convinced that an agreement is concluded … An agreement that puts America first.”
Leavitt has recognized the importance of the platform, noting that small businesses in the country had benefited from Tiktok’s electronic commerce opportunities, hence the importance that an agreement is concluded.
America has reached a Tiktok agreement, finally
Although the details of the agreement remain under the Wraps while the two nations finalize the details and the sign agreements, Leavitt has confirmed that Oracle will be responsible for the data of the platform in the United States.
American investors would also be integrated into the agreement, Trump indicating that Larry Ellison d’Oracle and Michael Dell Dell could both be involved.
Trump also alluded to the potential involvement of Lachlan Murdoch, who has a huge influence on a large part of the world’s media, including Nova Entertainment, News Corp and Fox Corporation.
The agreement guarantees that the American entity of Tiktok will belong to the majority belonging to the United States, with six of the seven seats of the board of directors held by American citizens. It would also comply with American laws demanding that Tiktok be sold to an American buyer in the midst of security problems.
This comes after legislators and intelligence agencies fear that Tiktok will allow the Chinese government to access American user data and that China may influence the content that Americans see via algorithmic manipulation. Leavitt has confirmed that the United States would retain control of UT user algorithms.
The White House has not yet confirmed the conclusion of the agreement, but we expect to hear the details very soon.
