“Keegan Bradley should certainly be part of the American Ryder Cup team – as captain !!!” The president said. “He’s an incredible guy. He will be a big Ryder Cup. At the invitation of the PGA Tour, I will be there the tournament on Friday !!!”

Bradley is part of the American team as a captain, but he has a major decision on the opportunity to play in the tournament. No golfer is a captain of the Ryder Cup from Arnold Palmer in 1963.

Bradley is classified n ° 13 in the world and won the Travelers championship for the second time in his career in June.

“I promise you that we are going to make the best decision for the team and it will be controversial anyway,” he told the touring championship on Friday. “I’m ready for that. I know it’s the biggest decision in my life.”

Bradley will announce the six choices of captains on Tuesday, but he did not tip his hand in one way or another. He said his choices will not be shaped by the Tour championship, calling a two -year process not shaped by the last results.

He was appointed captain in July 2024. He said he would plan to play in the event if he qualified – but it was before he won a FEDEX qualifying series last year and before he won travelers.

“To be honest, I feel like I was still one of the best players in the world,” he said. “I thought that the probability of being completely out of the image was probably quite thin. We have been preparing for this since then. It would be easier if I was in the top six or if I went out.”

Scottie Scheffler, Xander Schauffele, JJ Spaun, Russell Henley, Harris English and Bryson Dechambeau are the six American men who have already qualified.
