Washington / Dubai / Jerusalem: President Donald Trump suggested that he could join the current military campaign of Israel against Iran, but has ceased to confirm any action, leaving the world at the forefront.
While the Israeli air strikes continued to beat Iranian targets and panic spread to Tehran, Trump told journalists outside the White House that he had not made a final decision.
“I can do it. I may not be doing it, “he said. “No one knows what I’m going to do.”
His waves have fueled speculation on the question of whether the United States will increase its involvement in the spiral conflict in the Middle East.
Offering a glimmer of hope for negotiations, Trump later said that Iranian officials wanted to come to Washington for a meeting and that “we can do it”. But he added: “It’s a little late” for such discussions.
Foreign Ministers of Germany, France and Great Britain plan to hold nuclear talks with their Iranian counterpart on Friday in Geneva, a German diplomatic source in Reuters told Reuters. The objective of talks, which, according to the source, takes place in coordination with the United States, is to persuade Iran to firmly guarantee that it will use its nuclear program only for civil purposes.
THE Wall Street Journal said Trump told superior assistants that he had approved attack plans on Iran, but that he did not hold back to the final order to see if Tehran would abandon his nuclear program.
When asked if he thought that the Iranian government could fall following the Israeli campaign, Trump said: “Of course, everything could happen.”
Referring to the destruction or dismantling of the Fordwow Nuclear Enrichment Center of Iran, Trump said: “We are the only ones to have the ability to do it. But that does not mean that I will do it at all.” Military analysts believe that Israel may need American military aid to destroy Fordow, dug under a mountain near the city of Qom.
The supreme Iranian chief Ayatollah Ali Khamenei rejected Trump’s request on Tuesday for unconditional surrender and the Iranians blocked the highways of the capital Tehran, a city of 10 million people, while residents were looking for sanctuary to intensify the Israeli air strikes.
Khamenei, 86, reprimanded Trump in a recorded speech played on television, his first appearance since Friday.
The Americans “should know that any American military intervention will undoubtedly be accompanied by irreparable damage,” he said.
“The intelligent people who know Iran, the Iranian nation and its history will never speak of this nation in threatening language because the Iranian nation will not surrender.”
In his last bomb attacks, Israel said that his air force had destroyed the siege of the Iranian police.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in a video published on Wednesday by his office, said that Israel “progressed step by step” towards the elimination of threats posed by Iranian nuclear sites and the arsenal of ballistic missiles.
“We control the sky on Tehran. We are struggling with enormous force to the Ayatollahs regime. We hit nuclear sites, missiles, headquarters, symbols of the regime,” said Netanyahu. The Prime Minister’s office published a photo showing Netanyahu convening his cabinet and said he met on Wednesday evening.
He also thanked Trump, “a great friend of the State of Israel” for having been by his side in the conflict, saying that the two were in continuous contact.
Trump has turned to propose a quick diplomatic to war to suggest that the United States could join him. In the publications on social networks on Tuesday, he thought about the death of Khamenei, then demanded “the unconditional surrender of Iran!”
A familiar source with internal discussions said Trump and his team envisaged options that included joining Israel in strikes against Iranian nuclear installations.

In Israel, the sirens were renamed at dusk on Wednesday by warning new inbound Iranian missiles. There was no immediate report of serious damage, while a motorist was injured by missile debris, the Israeli doctors said.
Later, the army advised civilians that they could leave protected areas, reporting that the threat had passed.
At Ramat Gan station east of Tel Aviv, people were lying on mattresses provided by the city or sitting in the strange camping chair, with bottles of scattered plastic water.
“I feel frightened, overwhelmed. Especially because I live in a densely populated area that Iran seems to target, and our city has very old buildings, without shelters and safe spaces,” said Tamar Weiss, grabbing her four -month -old daughter.
Iran reported at least 224 deaths in Israeli attacks, mainly civilians, but has not updated this toll for days.
