President Donald Trump is expected to sign a decree to create a working group from the White House Olympic Games for safety purposes and other problems before the 2028 games in Los Angeles.
The working group must be made up of members of Trump’s office as well as government agencies, an administration official told Reuters.
One of the main priorities of the working group will be to coordinate the local federal, state and state work on transport. They will “also rationalize the treatment of visas and diplomas for foreign athletes, coaches, officials and the media”, according to an e-mail in Reuters.

“During his first mandate, President Trump played a decisive role in securing America’s candidacy to host the 2028 summer Olympic Games in Los Angeles,” said the White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt on Monday. “The president considers that it is a great honor to supervise this world sports show in his second mandate.”
The President of La28 and President Casey Wasserman said that the working group “marks an important step forward in our planning efforts and reflects our common commitment to provide not only the biggest, but the biggest games that the world has ever seen in the summer of 2028.”

Wasserman is expected to join Trump in the White House on Tuesday afternoon for the signing.
Before that, the United States will be a host site for the FIFA World Cup, which Trump expressed a lot of fun welcoming in 2026.

While Canada and Mexico are auxiliary hosts, the main host country of the World Cup will be the United States. This is the first tournament to be organized by three nations. The United States has 11 of the 16 cities serving as hosts for the football event, the final played at East Rutherford, the New Jersey Metlife Stadium.
Thus, while this working group provides 2028, the United States will have safety protocols in place for the World Cup, which could also be used two years later.
Los Angeles was a host site for two Olympic Games, the first of which was in 1932 and the most recent in 1984.

The La28 opening ceremony is scheduled for July 14, 2028 and the competition will take place until July 30. There are also the Paralympic Games of La28, which will start on August 15, 2028 and will pass on August 27, 2028.
