King of Tulsa season 4 has been officially renewed. The big news was announced before the Season 3 premiere, which isn’t entirely surprising considering it’s one of the best shows on Paramount+.
As we wait impatiently King of Tulsa season 4, here’s everything we know so far about the show’s upcoming release, from release date speculation, expected casting, plot rumors and more.
Full spoilers follow for King of Tulsa seasons 1-3. Potential spoilers are also discussed for season 4.
Tulsa King season 4: is there a release date?
King of Tulsa season 4 was renewed on September 16, as confirmed by the show’s official Instagram, just days before season 3 began streaming on Paramount+.
Although Season 3 doesn’t end on the streamer until November 23, it’s difficult to predict a release date for Season 4, but I’ll give it a try.
Filming for seasons 2 and 3 wrapped in August and July, respectively, and was released in mid-September 2024 and 2025.
With the series being renewed, this could mean that season 4 will go into production in the first half of 2026 and therefore, I predict a release date of mid to late 2026. But this is all pure speculation.
Tulsa King season 4: has a trailer been released?
While Season 3 is still streaming on Paramount+ and there’s no official word yet on the production of Season 4, we’re a long way from a King of Tulsa trailer for season 4. For season 3, a teaser was released in early August and an official trailer in early September.
So, if the schedules line up, The General could return for the next season in 2026, which means we could be looking at the same time in 2026 for the trailers to be released. I will update here as soon as we know more.
Tulsa King season 4: planned casting
Spoilers follow for King of Tulsa seasons 1 to 3.
There was no official King of Tulsa Casting announcements for season 4 have yet to be announced, and even though season 3 is still airing, it’s unclear who will survive this dangerous drama. Here’s the cast we plan to return (for now):
- Sylvester Stallone as Dwight “The General” Manfredi
- Martin Starr as Bodhi
- Annabella Sciorra as Joanne Manfredi
- Jay Will as Tyson Mitchell
- Garrett Hedlund as Mitch Keller
- Dana Delany as Margaret Devereaux
- Neal McDonough as Cal Thresher
- Frank Grillo as Bill Bevilaqua
- Mike ‘Cash Flo’ Walden as Bigfoot
- Chris Caldovino as Dennis ‘Goodie’ Carangi
- Vincent Piazza as Vince Antonacci
- McKenna Quigley Harrington as Grace
- Bella Heatcote as Cleo Montague
Even though we don’t know anything clearly about King of Tulsa casting, we know something about an important member of the team.
Original showrunner and executive producer of Season 1, Terence Winter, left before Season 2, only to return as a consultant on Season 3. And, according to Variety, it was revealed that Winter would return as “head writer of the series in addition to executive producing.”
And this means, for King of Tulsa season 3, showrunner David Erickson will not return. Instead, it will focus on Mayor of Kingstownanother of Taylor Sheridan’s popular shows for the streamer, and a King of Tulsa spin-off, which I’ll cover in more detail below.
Tulsa King season 4: story synopsis and rumors
Full spoilers follow for King of Tulsa seasons 1-3. Potential spoilers for King of Tulsa season 4.
It’s a little difficult to predict at the moment where King of Tulsa season 4 will follow, as episodes of season 3 will continue to air until November 23. And while I don’t have inside information from the writer’s room, I wouldn’t share spoilers if I knew!
So, without trying to guess how season 3 will turn out, I’m at least guessing that King of Tulsa Season 4 will continue in the same vein as previous seasons. Dwight will continue to build his empire in Tulsa, shunned by the New York crime family he once worked for, battling power struggles and adversaries seeking to overthrow his reigns.
In season 3, fans were introduced to a new (and villainous) character, Robert Patrick in the role of Jeremiah Dunmire. And Stallone previously told TV Insider, speaking about season 3, that: “You’ll meet him in this season, but it’s a question of whether he ultimately has to jump in and say, ‘I know you’re going to try to kill me.’
“So we’re going to try to resolve this, or one of us has to go. That’s the theme, and it starts to play out in all 10 episodes. It continues into next season.”
You’ll notice that I didn’t include Jeremiah Dunmire in the list of planned cast members, and that’s only because I don’t know if they’ll ever be able to pull it off. But maybe they will (and then I’ll update it, of course).
If they do, Dunmire could well return alongside his son, Cole, or there could be entirely new villains to face in season 4.
Will there be more seasons of Tulsa King?
With King of Tulsa getting an early renewal for season 4, which has yet to go into production, there is no news of a season 5 yet. But we have something to say – a King of Tulsa spin-off.
In season 3, Samuel L. Jackson joins Russell Lee Washington, a former prison friend of Dwight. And there is a duality in his appearance in King of Tulsaas in June 2025, this was confirmed via. Deadline for Samuel L. Jackson’s character to get his own spin-off, titled NOLA King.
In another expansion of Taylor Sheridan’s already illustrious universe on Paramount+, NOLA King will see Jackson continue to play his character as Deadline explains: “He will face Dwight in Tulsa before leaving to take control of New Orleans.”
Sources also reportedly said that filming for the new series is “looking at starting in February”, which could well coincide with filming of King of Tulsa season 4, although none of this has been confirmed. Anyway, more King of Tulsa will survive at least through the spin-off series.
