Turkish officials to visit Pakistan amid regional tensions: Erdogan

“Ensuring the delivery of urgent supplies to Gaza is of the utmost importance”

ISTANBUL:

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Defense Minister Yasar Guler and intelligence chief Ibrahim Kalin will visit Islamabad next week to discuss tensions between Afghanistan and Pakistan, the Turkish president announced on Sunday.

Speaking to reporters aboard his flight back from Azerbaijan, Recep Tayyip Erdogan said preparations were being made to send containers from Turkey’s earthquake zone to Gaza, adding that they would provide maximum support.

Ensuring the delivery of urgent supplies to Gaza is of the utmost importance, Erdogan said, calling it “not just a matter of aid, but a matter of humanity.”

Stressing that a wind of peace is blowing after Azerbaijan’s victory in Karabakh, he said that Turkey continues the normalization process with Armenia in synchronization with Azerbaijan.

Regarding the ongoing conflict in Sudan, President Erdogan said Turkey cannot stand idly by and will continue its diplomatic efforts to ensure peace and security in the country.

Erdogan also noted that positive steps were taken regarding the F-35 fighter jets during his recent talks with US President Donald Trump, and expressed hope that the promises made would be fulfilled.
