Two fugitives from Pakistan accused of terrorism and murder detained in Spain

Two of Pakistan’s most wanted fugitives, accused of terrorism, murder and kidnapping, were arrested in Spain, officials said, marking a major breakthrough in Islamabad’s efforts to apprehend high -level criminals.

According to an official press release published by the Ministry of the Interior, arrests are the result of persistent coordination between the Pakistani and Spanish authorities, initiated during the recent visit of Minister Talal Chaudhry in Spain.

The suspects, long threads of Pakistan, will be given to the Pakistani authorities after the completion of the required legal procedures.

The two people arrested, Nawazish Ali Hanjra and Haroon Iqbal, were detained in accordance with the Red Interpol reviews. Hanjra faces 23 cases involving serious accusations such as terrorism, murder and kidnapping for a ransom, while Iqbal is sought in a distinct criminal investigation.

During his official visit, Chaudhry held meetings with the Spanish Minister of the Interior Fernando Grande-Marlaka, urging rapid action for the arrest and extradition of Pakistani fugitives residing in Spain.

Following these discussions, the Spanish authorities quickly issued directives leading to arrests.

Pakistan has continued the extradition of 38 people sought after from Spain to Interpol for several years. The recent arrests mark a positive step in this current effort.

The minister expressed his gratitude to his Spanish counterpart for cooperation and expressed his optimism that the remaining vans hiding in Spain will soon be brought to justice in Pakistan.
