Multan district authorities suspended traffic to chief Muhammad Wala Bridge on Tuesday to a precaution against the imminent threat of floods.
Authorities may be forced to violate their heads for safety if the pressure continues to increase, said Multan Commissioner Aamir Karim Khan. The main wave of flooding of Chenab currently passing by Triad Trimmu should reach Multan by this evening, while Sidhnai head water levels increase quickly, threatening Pir Mahal and Khanewal.
Currently, the Muhammad Wala water gauge is 408 feet, the critical level being 417 feet. The technical committee will decide to rape the chief Muhammad Wala according to the speed and intensity of the flood wave, among other factors.

Until now, 550,000 people have been evacuated from the areas affected by district floods, and more than 500,000 cattle have been moved to safer places. About 90 flood rescue camps are fully operational in the district.
More than 1,100 police officers and officers are in service to ensure the safe outcome of affected residents. A large police contingent participates in flood rescue operations in 138 localities in the Multan district.
Multan faces threats to flooding two Punjab rivers, with around 500,000 CUSCS DU CHENAB and 125,000 CUSECS DU RAVIED SERVERED TO EUTIER. The authorities work 24 hours a day to prevent major structural damage to Multan. A violation will only be considered if structural integrity is compromised.

Punjab director of Punjab of Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), IRFAN Ali, said that the following four to six hours are essential because India continues to release water.

According to the division of flood forecasts, more than 350,000 water records are currently crossing Ganda Singh Wala on the Sutlej – the highest level recorded since 1955 – while the Trimmu head water flow on the Chenab has exceeded 516,000 Cuses.
In the coming 24 hours, there is a risk of urban flooding in Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sahiwal, Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Faisalabad and Bahawalpur.
The PDMA Punjab has issued an extremely high level warning for Chenab and Sutlej rivers. Between September 4 and 5, a high -level flood situation is expected in Panjnad on the Chenab river.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has warned of additional river pressure in the coming days, which raises concerns of a potential “super flood” in the Sindh.
According to the PDMA DG, more than a million people have been moved to safer areas, while at least 41 people have lost their lives since August 26.
