Rawalpindi:
Two other pursuit witnesses gave their testimonies on Tuesday in a case linked to an alleged abusive use of the official rules of the gift repository by the founder of PTI, Imran Khan, and his spouse Bushra Bibi during the mandate of the former as Prime Minister.
The special central judge Shahrukh Arjumand led the audience of the case to a courtroom within Rawalpindi central prison, popularly known as the Adiala prison. Imran and Bushra – who are detained in the prison center – attended the hearing.
After the testimonies, Imran’s lawyer Arshad Tabriz, the two witnesses counter-examine. Bushra Bibi’s lawyer, Qosain Faisal Mufti, will examine the witnesses at the next hearing.
Bushra Bibi had refused to attend the last hearing of the case – also called the Toshakhana II affair – despite the rehearsal summons by the Court. The judge had later warned to cancel his deposit in the case.
The court will resume the hearing on June 11.
According to the load sheet, Imran abused his position to acquire a set of Bulgari jewelry that the Saudi crown prince presented as a gift during the couple’s visit to Saudi Arabia between May 7 and 10, 2021.
