It has been almost four years since Conor McGregor entered the UFC octagon.

McGregor fought Dustin Poirier on July 10, 2021, about six months after taking a defeat for him, but broke his leg, which caused a stop in the fight.

The Irishman was to return to Michael Chandler to the UFC 303, but the fight was surprisingly canceled due to the broken McGregor.

This cancellation was over a year ago, and McGregor has not yet been in the ring.

But the legend of the UFC, Georges St. Pierre, hopes that McGregor will be able to return once and for all.

“I hope yes. When Conor is fighting, it’s good for sport, good for everyone,” St. Pierre told PK Press Club Digital at Fanatics Fest in New York last weekend. “He has brought more eyeballs than anyone in sport. In terms of promotion, he is the biggest name of the mixed martial arts of all time. And I just hope that he will come back – if he wants. If that makes him happy, and that is really what he wants to do, he should do it.”

In April, McGregor went to social networks to declare that he would only come back if the fight was in a stadium.

The UFC star criticized Trump’s decision to hit Iranian nuclear sites: “What happened to America first?”

Dana White has already expressed her opposition to the organization of fighting in the stadiums. In September, before the UFC 306, White clearly indicated that the organization of a fight in a stadium would be at the expense of the experience of fans due to the challenges of production.

“When I organized a live event on Saturday, I want the best internal experience that people can have, and I want the same television experience,” he told a press conference. “I just don’t understand why I would need to do a stadium when, for what? I can do more people there? I just don’t interest me.

“What interests me is to put the best event live. People always talk about the speed at which this sport has grown – the live event is part of the reason why sport has grown up like that.”

The UFC 306 was hosted in the sphere Las Vegas, But White said at the time that it would probably be the last event of the genre.
