UN chief’s envoy discusses Cyprus with Akram

The Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General in Cyprus, Collins Stewart, met on Friday with the Ambassador of Pakistan, Munir Akram, to brief him on the activities of the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus (UNFICYP), which maintains peace between the Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot communities on the island. .

Collins congratulated Pakistan on its accession to its seat as an elected member of the Security Council, according to a press release issued by the Pakistani mission to the UN. During the meeting, he highlighted the various challenges faced by UNFICYP staff in fulfilling their mandate.
