Lahore:
Chairing a meeting to examine the reasons for the alleged AIDS dissemination at Tehsil Taunsa, the chief minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, ordered the authorities concerned on Friday not only to determine the causes of the propagation of the disease, but also to identify those responsible for criminal negligence.
She has published directives to establish a joint mission from UNICEF, which and Punjab Health Department to trace the history of affected children and to screen for households in their region.
The joint mission will present suggestions for prevention and control of AIDS.
The chief minister ordered the authorities to take effective measures for the protection of the population in danger in the region and to ask them for an effective operational plan for this purpose.
In his direction, special centers for the treatment of AIDS have been set up at the Taunsa Tehsil hospital and other medical establishments.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz ordered authorities to provide free treatment to AIDS in the region and warned: “No gap or negligence in their treatment will be tolerated”.
Meanwhile, CM Maryam Nawaz appreciated the Faisalabad police after arresting in a few hours, the suspects in a gang rape during the flight. It ordered the policy to ensure an early arrest of the two associates of the suspects.
