United Kingdom, Singapore extends aid to flood victims

Islamabad:

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, met the British High Commissioner on Friday in Pakistan, Jane Marriott, who transmitted the solidarity of the United Kingdom with Pakistan on the devastation caused by the floods and the ongoing monsoon.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the High Commissioner said that Great Britain extended 3 million pounds of rescue and emergency response in coordination with the Government of Pakistan and the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA)

She said other humanitarian aid would also follow. DAR appreciated the appropriate commitment, expressing its gratitude for the understanding of the United Kingdom of the magnitude of the destruction, the urgency of needs and its solidarity in support for help and rehabilitation efforts.

Meanwhile, Singapore has announced humanitarian assistance worth $ 50,000 for flood victims in Pakistan. According to his Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the amount will be provided as seed currency for the Singapore Red Cross funds campaign (SRC) launched last week for flood relief.
