Pakistan informed the United Nations Security Council (USC) of dominant tensions in South Asia after the murder of 26 people in Jammu and the Kashmir of the Indians on Monday.

The CSNU entered an emergency session on the camera at the request of Pakistan and received a briefing from the ambassador of the Permanent Representative of Pakistan Asim Iftikhar.

The meeting was assisted by the 15 members, including the powers of VITO with five permanents.

“Pakistan is grateful to the members of the CSNU for their attention and their commitment,” Iftikhar ambassador told journalists, while informing the media.

He described the question of cashmere as a long -standing dispute between Pakistan and India, saying that he has persisted for the past 70 years.

He expressed solid reserves on the recent unilateral actions of India and said that Pakistan had raised an effective voice against Indian actions within the Security Council.

“Pakistan is still ready to defend its sovereignty and its territorial integrity,” he said.

Ambassador Iftikhar has expressed reserves on the unilateral suspension of India from the Industry Water Treaty (IWT), describing it as a violation of international law.

He condemned the atrocities of the Indian forces in the IIOJK and said that the oppression and persecution of the unarmed and innocent cashmiris continued tirelessly.

About Pahalgam’s attack, the Pakistani delegate condemned the incident and clearly indicated that Pakistan had nothing to do with that. “Pakistan is ready to cooperate fully in a transparent, independent and international investigation into the incident,” he added.

He stressed that sustainable peace in South Asia was not possible without the resolution of the cashmere problem and urged the solution to this question should be in accordance with the aspirations of the cashmere people.

“The cashmere dispute cannot be resolved without the participation of the cashmere people.”

The Pakistani delegate said that India’s actions were serious threats to the region’s peace and security and stressed that talks were the only means of peace.

“Pakistan is always ready for talks based on the principles of mutual respect, dignity and sovereignty.
