PlayStation enthusiasts should buckle up as Sony prepares to showcase its upcoming PS5 games at the latest State of Play event which is scheduled to begin on February 12 at 5 p.m. ET.
The Japanese entertainment giant is dedicating the State of Play event to new PS5 titles. It’s expected to last over an hour, meaning a rich presentation is planned for gamers eager to see what’s next for the popular console.
While Sony hasn’t confirmed the full lineup of upcoming PS5 games, it has promised “news, gameplay updates, and announcements from game studios around the world.”
That said, the PS maker still seems to have plenty of room for surprises. Unfortunately, a highly anticipated title might be missing, as Insomniac Games’ brutal take on Wolverine is unlikely to be present.
Big PS5 exclusive games will shine at State of Play
The event is widely believed to highlight major single-player experiences, particularly projects from Naughty Dog, one of PlayStation’s most famous studios.
It’s worth mentioning that Sony has always used State of Play broadcasts to build the strength of its narrative exclusives, and this year’s showcase could continue that trend with new gameplay footage and release updates.
In addition to successful single-player adventures, Sony is building on its push into live service territory. Upcoming projects such as Horizon Hunters Gathering and Marathon could receive new trailers or development information.
As the event approaches, fans can watch State of Play live on YouTube and Twitch, and full coverage and key announcements will appear shortly after the broadcast ends.
