US Travel Association claims that the country is not ready for major sporting events

The United States hosts major international sporting events in the coming years: the Ryder Cup 2025, the FIFA World Cup 2026 and the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

However, the country is not ready for all plane trips that accompany these events, the US Travel Association said on Wednesday in a report.

“Without immediate action, our obsolete air travel system will have repercussions under pressure,” said the report.

The US Travel Association called for urgent modernization of air traffic control technology and solutions to the country traffic controller shortages.

“America is looking at a historic opportunity – the question is whether we will seize the moment or that we will fall in a crazy way,” said Geoff Freeman, president and chief executive officer of the US Travel Association.

“The next years will provide an unprecedented travel request that our systems are not prepared to manage. Washington has a small window to fix the main travel painting points and unlock an economic opportunity of $ 100 billion – but that will require a level of emergency that has failed in recent years. ”
