USA Cycling provided a statement to PK Press Club Digital sending publications on the social networks of the Transgenre Chelsea Wolfe athlete – A BMX substitute for the United States at the Tokyo Olympic Games – celebrating the assassination of Charlie Kirk this week.
“The opinions of the athletes of the current and old national team are theirs and do not reflect those of cycling of the United States. Chelsea Wolfe has not been a member of the United States National Cycling Team or a member of USA Cycling since 2023,” said the press release.
Wolfe’s social media statements, made via Instagram Story, included news from Kirk’s assassination with an animated legend who said “We did it!” And a selfie with a legend who suggested that Kirk was a “Nazi”.

Wolfe has since been reactions on social networks. The legend of women’s tennis and the known liberal Martina Navritolva and conservative influencer Riley Gaines were among those who publicly criticize Wolfe.
Wolfe seemed to recognize the backlash in an article Thursday evening, sharing a meme with the legend who said: “Your hoots don’t mean anything. I saw what makes you applaud.”

The United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC) previously used an eligibility policy between the sexes which allowed organic men to participate in the female category at the time of Wolfe status as an Olympic alternative in 2021.
The USOPC changed its athlete security policy in July to suggest that it will comply with the executive decree of President Donald Trump “men out of women’s sport”.
USA Cycling has published an update policy earlier in September, restricting competitors in the women’s category to women, defined as “a woman means a person belonging, to the design, to the sex that produces the large reproductive cell”.
