USA Volleyball (USAV) has become the last organization to modify its eligibility policy between the sexes to align with President Donald TrumpThe executive decree aimed to prevent transgender athletes from participating in the sports of girls and women.
The last change in policy, which takes effect immediately, indicates that all members of the USAV “should participate or compete in all events or activities sanctioned by USAV as a member of the gender attributed at the time of birth on their birth certificate”.

Change effectively prohibits transgender athletes from competition in response American Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC), who quietly updated his advice on Monday to demand that all the national sports guidelines comply with the president’s decree.

“As an organization with a federal charter, we have the obligation to meet federal expectations,” wrote the CEO of the USOPC, Sarah Hirshland and President Gene Sykes in a letter. “Our revised policy highlights the importance of ensuring fair and safe competition environments for women. All national guiding bodies are required to update their aligning policies.”

This list of requirements included the information of the USAV at least six weeks before the competition, a declaration “that they wish to compete in the sex opposed to that of their birth”, another declaration of a treating doctor, including medical files and laboratory reports of testosterone levels for all athletes over 13 years old.
For the last requirement, athletes assigned by male at birth wishing to participate in female events should prove that testosterone levels did not exceed “the upper limit of the normal female reference range for their age group”. For adults over 18, testosterone levels were to be “less than 10 Nmol / L for a minimum of 1 year before” before competition or event.
The new change in policy strictly limits athletes to competitions that align with sex with their origin birth certificate. It will apply to all events sanctioned by USAV in the United States

The president signed the decree of the executive of “men to keep men” on February 5. Since then, several sports guidelines have taken measures to comply with federal law. THE Ncaa was the first, announcing a policy change the day after Trump’s signature.
