A promising tech football player will have to wait until 2026 to return to the field.
Quinten Joyner, who was transferred to the Red Raiders after two years to the USC, suffered a contactless injury during the teammother on Saturday. Texas Tech head coach Joey McGuire confirmed on his podcast what the team feared – Joyner has torn his ACL.

Joyner was a four -star recruit that went to California instead of staying in his native Texas, where he had offers. He collected 478 yards on the ground with four affected in total last season for the Trojans, where he mainly fell Woody Marks.

“I hate it so much for him, just because of the way he did in the spring, in summer and in camp,” said McGuire about Joyner. “He really came here and was a pro, and we asked him to do a lot of things that he has never done before. … He really took it, so it’s unhappy.”

Given the quantity of factor that Joyner had to be in the Red Raiders offensive, it will be interesting to see how they are classified with a week before the start of the season.
