Vice-president JD Vance said that the United States is not militarily engaging in the climbing of tensions between Pakistan and India, describing conflict as “fundamentally none of our business”.
Addressing Fox News after a recent escalation between the two nuclear weapons neighbors, Vance said that if the United States urged the two parties to defuse, it does not have the authority or the responsibility to force one or the other country to arrest military operations.
“We are not going to get involved in the midst of a war that has nothing to do with America’s ability to control it,” he said.
