“I know that you may not be able to show it on television, but we need the community to discover the injury and the hatred that exists,” said Terrance Cribbs-Lorrant, executive director of the city of black police in the city of Miami. “The reason why it continues to perpetuate itself is that we continue to cover it.”

“We must deal with this for what it is: a crime of hatred intended to instill fear and division. But we will not be intimidated. We will respond with unity, resilience and an unshakable commitment to the truth, justice and the preservation of our history,” she said.
Robinson broke the color barrier in the Major League Baseball in 1947 when he became the first black player, signing with the Brooklyn Dodgers. Miñoso became the first Afro-Latin player from MLB and the first black player from the Chicago White Sox.
