Senator Faisal Vawda said Thursday that he had already predicted the fragmentation of Pakistan Tehreek-E-insaf (PTI) in multiple factions.

In an interview with a private television channel, he said that the PTI turned into “PTI-Pakistan”, just like Pakistan MQM, adding that the fate would decide that would govern the party.

“The army leader has shown how to bring Pakistan back on the right track. After which the government and the political parties gained confidence,” said Vawda. “We have a qualified army leader and he does a good job,” he said.

“Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is standing along the army chief. The senator added that Shehbaz did not do what his brother, and Imran Khan did.

He said the government and his ally hesitated to talk about the PTI six months ago, but now they called him a “Fitna party”.

Vawda said Imran Khan had not obtained anything in two and a half years, while N-League obtained power. “The army is not interested in an agreement because it focuses on security and the country’s economy.”

Vawda said Imran seemed to have big trouble because his party did not want him to be in prison. “PTI leaders simply appreciate raising slogans and trying to be popular in public.”
