Karachi: The case of the torture of a young man in the commercial area of Ittehad of Defense Housing Authority (DHA) in Karachi took an unexpected turn on Thursday while the victim, Sudheer, appeared in court and declared that he had forgiven the suspects and wanted to bring any accusation against them.
Earlier in the week, the judicial magistrate of the southern court had sent two suspects, Salman Farooqi and Owaish Hashmi, in police custody for two days in connection with the aggression, which led to a large public indigation.
The matter against suspects was recorded at the Gizri police station on the complaint of an eyewitness named Saleem. He declared that a minor collision had taken place on May 31 between a SUV and a motorcycle near the advertising of Ittehad in phase VI of the DHA.
After the accident, apologies were also presented by the motorcyclist and his sisters.
However, Farooqi would have ordered his partners to force the motorcyclist inside his vehicle, where he was beaten, threatened by firearm and humiliated. The victim’s sister, who was present, would also have been pushed despite her pleas.
Several passers -by recorded the incident and the videos quickly became viral online, which caused an immediate notice of SSP South and the Minister of the Interior. After that, the police made raids and arrested the suspects.
The suspects were brought before the additional district and the sessions today judge the South Court. Sudheer, the victim, was also present on this occasion. He identified the two suspects but said that he was not aware that he had been summoned by the Court, learning him only through his lawyer today.
The court asked if he was under pressure, Sudheer replied that he did not want to continue the case and had forgiven the suspects. He also declared that he would have no objection to whatever the judgment that the court carries.

The defendant’s lawyer said that the charges acquired in the case were renamed. However, the prosecutor opposed the request for surety, arguing that the suspects were also reserved under sections linked to the publication of threats and the humiliation of a woman, who are non -reproducible offenses. Following the arguments of the lawyers, the court reserved its verdict on the advice of deposit for a few hours, before rejecting the request for the two suspects.
Meanwhile, the judicial magistrate of the South sent the two suspects to prison in pre -trial detention. The court asked for a stage report on the part of the investigating officer at the next hearing.
