San Antonio Spurs star Victor Wembanyama will miss the rest of the season after receiving a diagnosis of deep venous thrombosis on the right shoulder, the team announced on Thursday in a statement.
“The San Antonio Spurs announced today that Victor Wembanyama was diagnosed with deep venous thrombosis in his right shoulder,” said the team. “The condition was discovered when Wembanyama returned to San Antonio after the star match in San Francisco. Wembanyama should miss the rest of the regular 2024-25 season. The team will provide updates if necessary.”
The news arrives in the middle of the spurs’ push for a place in the playoff series in the Western Conference.
