The Vikings of Minnesota organized a compulsory mini-cap this week, and Brian Flores was held nearby while the defensive players of the Vikings participated in exercises.
Earlier this year, it was not clear that Flores would wear a Vikings cap when the team’s off -season program started. The former head coach of Miami Dolphins arouses the interest of several NFL teams who had openings of chief coaches during the last job cycle.
The Chicago Bears and the New York Jets were among the teams who confirmed that they had met Flores for an interview in January.
Flores did not win another opportunity as a head coach and returned for his third season as a defensive coordinator of the Vikings.

Flores succeeded during its first two seasons with the Vikings, and its innovative programs were widely credited for the defensive reversal of the franchise. Although the regular season is still in months, the creativity of Flores and the aggressive style of play were already exposed to Minicamp.
During full team exercises on Thursday, an unexpected pre-Snap alignment by La Défense prompted the new Ryan Kelly center to ask the Vikings head coach, Kevin O’Connell, at the call he should make to block this game.
“Your supposition is as good as mine,” O’Connell told Kelly, he then told the journalists. “I have no idea what they are doing there.”

“It must have been quite close to the end of the intersane program because today he directed things that I did not even know about it,” added O’Connell. “It’s Flo. I challenge it all the time to do these things.”

Although it will not enter the 2025 NFL season as a chief coach, Flores expressed its appreciation for the opportunity to go through the interview process. He added that he was “happy” to return to Minnesota.
“Being able to sit in this context of interview and to have a conversation for this role is obviously an honor, and these jobs went to the guys who were certainly deserved,” said Flores. “It was a great experience, and I enjoyed it. I am also very happy to be where I am.”
The dolphins separated from Flores after the 2021 season. He filed a complaint for racial discrimination against the league shortly after losing his job as head coach. The trial is still pending.
The Vikings ranked fifth in the League to mark the defense last season after finishing 14th in the previous year. They were 28th in 2022 before the arrival of Flores.

Expenditure in the free agency helped improve the depth table, but Flores also helped to transform unsanminated players such as Josh Metellus security and the second Ivan Pace into key contributors.
Last season, the Vikings equaled to the head of the league with 33 take -out dishes, leading to a constant flow of celebrations on the field.
“My joy has just looked at them having excitement,” said Flores.
