- Designed for sale in Europe, the ID.Every1 will start at around € 20,000
- It is slightly smaller than the VW polo shirt but offers the same room
- A range of 155 miles and a top speed of 80 MPH were proposed
Volkswagen teased its tiny affordable electric city car last month, when it published a series of dark images that alluded to a more sporty and more aggressive EV to launch its range of passenger cars powered by battery.
Nicknamed the Id.Every1 (we know, it’s a terrible name), the exhibition car has now been revealed in all its square and flared glory.
Standing at 3,880 mm in length, it measures slightly longer than the old! (3,600 mm) and is designed to sit between the next ID.2all and the current polo shirt.
In addition to making us want to start a petition against very ridiculous vehicle names, ID. Everything looks smooth, with “welcoming” animated front and rear lamps, lower front bumpers which offer a “smile” and massive 19-inch wheels which are swallowed up by large flared wheel arcs.
It certainly makes the game pass from the slightly lower appearance! Or Yesteryar and it also offers more interior space, with a space for four people and a volume of luggage compartment of 305 liters.
“An element of secret sauce is the roof attracted in the middle, as we generally know in sports cars,” explains Volkswagen, design manager, Andreas Mindt.
Although it is an exhibition car and is not the model that will sell it, VW said that the concept reaches a top speed of 130 km / h (80 MPH) and is powered by a “newly developed” electric motor with 70 kW (95 hp). The range is at least 250 kilometers – about 155 miles in old money.
Away very well on the approval car segment, which is currently dominated by things like the Fiat 500E, or the even cheaper spring Dacia and the recently announced Leapmotor T03, it is designed to offer a low -cost automobile without rushing on the reputation of VW for quality.
Made “in Europe for Europe”, ID.1 – As we hope, it will be incomparable – will start at around € 20,000, or about £ 17,000 in the United Kingdom ($ 21,600 almost converted).
This will see him throw a range of new new models by 2027, including the production version of the ID.2TH and the updated versions of the ID.3, ID.4 and ID.5.
VW is like doing what it does best
Despite the fact that ID.EVERY1 will probably change considerably for this funky concept, it already has a certain number of neat and practical features which help it stand out from the current crowd of basic budgetary vehicles.
There is a large central infotainment system, with a neat row of physical buttons below it. The two -rated steering wheel is also scrutinized with multifunction buttons that guarantee that everything is not attached to a touch screen.
Volkswagen also says that the front passenger side of the dashboard is designed to be “variable”. Essentially, the designers have created a dedicated rail that allows things, like a tablet or a tray table, to be in place.
The images of the concept also seem to show a small system of speakers which can be clicked in place in the central console – or probably deleted and used as a Bluetooth audio system during the picnic or the party outside.
By removing a sheet from the recent KIA design book, the central console can also be used as rest of the arm, or slipped backwards and offered as a practical storage space for rear passengers.
Practical, usable and elegant, the ID.1 hopes to imitate the success of the longtime polo shirt, perhaps not in the figures of epic sales, but in the fact that it can introduce a new new audience to the brand with beauty, a modern interior and an attractive price.
