- Warner Bros. Discovery will soon be Warner Bros. and Global Discovery
- HBO Max and Discovery + will be divided under new corporate entities
- TNT SPORTS, BLEACHER reports and CNN will go to Discovery Global
Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) will soon be Warner Bros. Following the announcement in early June that the media company would separate in two, WBD revealed the new corporate names from its new companies.
As he did with HBO Max at the beginning of the month, which returned to HBO Max after a passage of two years as Max (who could forget the same Spider-Men that the Marketing Director of HBO Max, Shauna Spenley, shared during the announcement of the brand change), WBD returns in the name of its most common name.

The change will take effect in mid-2026 and will see Warner Bros. Become the household of Warner Bros. Television, Warner Bros. Motion Picture Group, DC Studios, HBO, HBO Max and Warner Bros. Gaming studios, as well as the legendary content and legendary television of the studio.
Meanwhile, the new Global Discovery will include CNN, TNT Sports TV networks in the United States, Discovery and certain free channels through Europe such as Quest and Food Network as well as streaming services such as Discovery + and the Bleacher ratio (B / R).
Indeed, the split means that Warner Bros. will host all the main WBD streaming and studios services, while Discovery Global will become the place of entertainment, sports and information networks.
The decision to divide Warner Bros. And Global Discovery is similar to the Comcast plan at the spin-off of the cable portfolio in difficulty of NBCUNIVERSAL in a new company called the slope. Like Warner Bros., Nbcu will be the new house of its studios, the Peacock streaming service and NBC and Bravo networks.
What does Warner Bros. And Discovery Global Split for subscribers?
The decline of linear television is no secret. Since the introduction of the best streaming services, the content on demand has considerably gained popularity, in particular for its accessibility, flexible prices and convenience.
This leaves the wired networks that rush to try viewers, and therefore, many media companies have launched their own streaming services to counter the drop in profits and help balance financial tension.
One way to help compensate for this debt is to restructure a business, which WBD has done, by dividing its wired networks responsible for its most profitable assets, including its HBO Max streaming service.
However, this decision also means that its other streaming platforms, Discovery + and CNN (not the service that was closed in 2022, but the new launch later this year), will now be part of Discovery Global. Although the platform – known for real entertainment and understands the content of networks such as Magnolia Network, HGTV, Food Network, TLC, ID, Animal Planet and Discovery Channel – will remain independent, subscribers can expect changes in the content they see.
The biggest potential change is that HBO Max will probably no longer be the house of sporting content in its TNT Sports and Bleacher networks reports to the United States. It will probably be the same for CNN content which is currently available on HBO Max (although WBD has declared that CNN Max will remain, despite the launch of its new autonomous service).
However, although this is not yet confirmed for those in the United States, a WBD spokesperson reportedly told RXTV that TNT Sports will be available on HBO Max when he was finally launched in the United Kingdom in 2026.
We do not yet know how the split will have an impact on the content you see on HBO Max and Discovery +, but since the two platforms have merged part of their content together in the years which followed the merger of Warnermedia with Discovery, there are necessarily changes to subscribers next year as the two companies separate.
