Golden State Warriors guard Moses Moody left Monday night’s game on a stretcher after suffering a gruesome leg injury against the Dallas Mavericks.

Moody was all alone en route to an easy dunk in overtime after stealing the ball from Mavericks rookie Cooper Flagg. He pulled himself together and went up for the slam but his knee buckled. He landed hard on the ground.

Warriors head coach Steve Kerr and players from both teams were left in disbelief.

Moody remained immobilized for several minutes while the medical staff tended to him. Kerr said after the game that Moody was taking X-rays at the American Airlines Center.

“I just saw his leg buckle. I saw him fall in a heap in pain,” Kerr told reporters. “We don’t know what it is, but it looked bad. I just hope for the best. What’s the best case scenario is what we all hope for. But it looked bad.”

Moody was playing his first match since spraining his right wrist. He led the Warriors with 23 points and three steals before the freak accident.

NBA CHAMPION’S IRONMAN SERIES ABRUPTLY ENDS DUE TO BIZARRE INJURY

“Mo is a great human being, a great teammate and a great guy to coach,” Kerr said. “He does the job every day. And he’s been brilliant, by the way. He played so well defensively, he changed the game for us with his pressure on the ball and he made some big shots. So great to finally have him back. And then for that to happen, you just pray it’s not too bad, but it looked serious.”

Warriors guard Brandin Podziemski said the injury reminded him of Jimmy Butler’s torn ACL against the Miami Heat in January.

“You hate to see that, especially for the good people in life,” Podziemski said.

The Warriors won the match 137-131. Golden State likely heads into the play-in tournament hoping to be one of eight Western Conference teams in contention for an NBA title.
