Opposition AMPs raise problems with water supply during thermal waves and cleaning drains before the rains.
The Sindh Assembly adopted a resolution on Thursday condemning the armed attack and the criminal fire to the residence of the Minister of the Interior Zia-Ul-Hassan Lanjar in Moro.
During the session, several bills were also adopted and the members raised multiple opinions of attention on issues of public importance.
MQM MPA Qurat-ul-Ain raised the issue of drainage before the next Mousson season in Karachi. It highlighted the need to clean up the major Nallas. Saeed Ghani replied that the Sindh government allocates large funds at KMC for cleaning Nallas. This time, KMC asked for 800 million rupees. The work is underway to fix the flow of large nallas mainly obstructed by plastic bags.
Ghani said that 45 City Nallas adults will be authorized in June.
Jamaat-E-Islami Muhammad Farooq raised concerns concerning a serious shortage of water in his constituency of the PS-91. He said that although there is no water shortage in the fire terminals, the water is now sold by contract.
During the procedure, the Minister of Local Government Saeed Ghani presented the resolution condemning the attack on the residence of the Minister of the Interior Ziaul Hassan Lanjar in Moro. He said that even if everyone had the right to protest, no law or constitution in the world gives anyone to block roads or set fire to houses.
The Common interest Council (CCI) clearly said that no new channel can be built without the consensus of all the provinces, some people continue to protest and create troubles, said Ghani.
Opposition chief Ali Khursheedi, the parliamentary chief of Jamaat-E-Islami, Muhammad Farooq, and Pakistan Tehreek-Einsaf (PTI), the MPA Owais Ahmed Khan also supported the resolution and called the incident deeply regrettable. All members have held their seats to support when the resolution was adopted. During the session, the MPA PPP Saadia Javed presented a resolution condemning the attack on Khuzdar, which was approved unanimously by the Chamber.
Thwart the story of extremism and terrorism
The Chamber unanimously adopted a bill to establish a center of excellence to combat extremism and terrorism. The bill was presented by the Minister of Parliamentary Affairs. Sabir Qaimkhani, a member of the MQM, suggested sending the bill to the permanent committee. However, Zia Lanjar stressed the importance of the bill and said that similar centers were established in other provinces. The Sindh Assembly adopted an amendment bill for the University of Aror d’Art in Sukkur and appointed Taha Ahmed and Adil Askari to the Council of Governors of the Nazir University Hussain.
Several appeal notices responded to public concerns. MQM Rashid Khan underlined the illegal occupation of 1,500 workers’ board of directors in Hyderabad, demanding their allowance from deserving workers. The Minister of Labor, Shahid Theem, said that a committee had been trained to ensure a merit -based distribution.
MQM Fauzia Hameed raised the question of age relaxation for young people in government jobs, arguing for relief similar to that approved by the National Assembly. Zia Lanjar noted that the Sindh government had previously offered a 15 -year relaxation, later reduced to five years by prescription from the Supreme Court. He welcomed the proposal to increase the age limit for officers ordered from 30 to 35, allowing five attempts, qualifying it as consideration.
