The Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the LT Gen Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, rejected India’s claim on Wednesday to have issued a preliminary warning concerning his recent military actions, calling “absurd” and reiterating that Pakistan is not based on Indian Intelligence for National Security.
Addressing the BBC, he revealed that the Director General of India for Military Operations (DGMO) had contacted Pakistan on May 7 to initiate dialogue in the midst of increasing tensions.
“We have clearly told them that the dialogue could only follow an appropriate response,” said CEO ISPR. He added that after Pakistan’s reprisals, the military spokesman for India announced publicly that New Delhi did not want to degenerate more.
“We deprive peace and love peace, but we are always ready for war, and if the war is necessary, then as long as it is,” said the army spokesman.
Lieutenant-General Chaudhry awarded the restraint shown by Pakistan and recalled past examples, including American diplomatic intervention during the 2019 Pulwama attack. “External actors also want to avoid another South Asian war,” he said.
Calling the demands of the intelligence of “manufactured” India, he noted that Pakistani air defense systems instantly detect intrusions, especially when Indian drones violate its airspace. He also criticized the Indian state, accusing him of being “diverted by a terrorist act”.
“India continues to build false stories to justify its actions every few years,” he said.
