A minecraft film Director Jared Hess opened on the “really hilarious” scene that he was disappointed to leave aside the film’s final cup.
Before the film released on April 4, I sat with Hess to discuss his last feature film. And, while A minecraft film The clocks are not exactly on the long side for a family film – it lasts an hour and 40 minutes, for info – Hess admitted that it would have been a few more minutes if he had succeeded * Ahem * extracted it for more equipment.
There is also a particular scene that Hess was the most upset to leave aside. Indeed, when I asked if there was something that had been considered to be prohibited by Minecraft Creator Mojang Studios for cinematographic adaptation, Hess said yes. His answer was unexpected, however, because it had nothing to do with Mojang telling him what he could not use in the distributed film of Warner Bros.
Spoilers immediately follow for A minecraft film.
“Yes, there were a ton of fun sequences that we wanted to make,” said Hess. “”[Popular Minecraft YouTuber] Mumbo Jumbo, who is a redstone genius, worked on a big scene that we just couldn’t do.
“We had a sequence that involved a giant piglin robot, which was one thing type Trojan horse that worked via Redstone,” said Hess. “I led him, we had a complete animation, and it was a really hilarious scene. But, we just couldn’t do it.
“Everything we designed for the film, we wanted to make sure you could really go to the game,” he added. “So, even the Steve washed chicken hut and all these things, we would be like ‘Gosh, are we sure that we can do that? Do you work? Okay, go to the game and build it now. Okay, it checks. It is to the test of the balls.’ ‘
“It would have been super fun to have this mumbo sequence designed by Jumbo, but in the end, it did not work. He also designed a lot of crazy traps for us too, but we could not also work within the limits of our film.”
“ There are really special Easter eggs in our film ”
Well disappointed that Hess concerns the absence of this sequence, there are a lot of Minecraft Easter eggs and broader video game references that he may have included in one of the new films of 2025.
From real physics in the game and real recipes for authentic articles and crafts to a whole multitude of flashes and you will miss them, Hess and the company make sure to fill the film with as many play eggs as possible. There are so many secrets, in fact, that Minecraft Devotees and fanatical players will have to look A minecraft film Several times to spot them all.
There are a few additions surprised above all the others, however, that Hess was more proud than most to include.
“There are very special,” he told me. “We have truly incredible minecrafters who have mini-cavity like Mumbo Jumbo, Dantdm and Aphmau.
“There are a bunch of others that I miss, but there are funny Easter eggs that I think that Die-Ahrd Minecrafters and the members of the community will notice. There is a truly special Easter egg that Sebastian Hansen, who plays Henry, came.
