This: Welcome to Derry’s The fifth episode has just been released on HBO Max, filled with bloodshed and surprising twists and turns.
In the last episode, Rudy Mancuso, who played Pauly in the series, shoots himself in front of Pennywise to save his friend Leroy’s son.
Rudy felt extremely grateful that he had not been murdered by the evil clown, but rather had a “justified” death.
The actor explained that he personally didn’t want his character to suffer a horrible death because he didn’t want his mother to see him die in such a horrible way, even if it was fictional.
Mansuco said American weekly, “I hadn’t dreamed of a Pennywise murder scenario because my mother would really suffer a lot seeing that on screen. So a grounded death is better than a fantasy death.”
“I’m thinking of my mother here, and I don’t wish that on any of my characters for the sake of my mother’s gaze,” he added.
Meanwhile, Rudy further shared that he met Bill Skarsgård, who played Pennywise, several times outside of filming and that he thought the Swedish actor was incredibly nice.
“I’ve had the opportunity to hang out with Bill off-set a few times. He’s incredibly kind, funny and generous. Then to see him in this full costume that haunted me for two films was really cool.”
