- No new iPhone expected, not even an index, really
- No excuse for the launch of Bad Apple Intelligence
- No Holy Graal products like XR glasses or a glucose monitor
Next week, Apple is organizing its global conference for developers (WWDC) 2025, bringing together developers and the media to discuss what is new and what is to come in the world of Apple. Apple does a lot of things, and more importantly, Apple does the software that performs it all. The Conference of Apple Developers concerns software more than anything else, and the news of the hardware will only be used to develop the development of Apple software.
If I were a Paris, here is my safe bet for the new products that we will see on WWDC 2025: Nothing! Apple almost never throws equipment on WWDC. The only time we get something new to WWDC is when it is used to make the developer’s news more interesting.
Of course, this new software for this year could be very interesting, with a major overhaul possibly in the cards for each Apple operating system, as well as a new denomination scheme which will correspond to the update of the year: that is to say. IOS 26 in 2026. Do we need new equipment to support the update interface? No, but it could generate more excitement.
In that spirit, here is what I not Expect to WWDC 2025
No equipment, no new iPhone, not even iPhone 17 air
If you were hoping for an overview of the iPhone 17, I would strongly doubt that Apple drops clues to his next phone to come. Even with the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge now available, I do not think that Apple ruin the surprise to come in September, when it will launch an iPhone 17 family of Radically overhaul. Show an air of the iPhone 17 would give too far today.
I would not expect new iPad models either. Apple recently launched new iPad basic models and new iPad Air tablets, with faster processors inside. There is no reason to launch anything again at WWDC 2025. Even the iPad Mini has obtained a recent update, so it is doubtful that we will see something new.
Sometimes Apple announces a new WWDC chipset, such as the Apple M4 platform. It would be a good reason to get a new MacBook Pro, or perhaps an updated iPad Pro model. We have not had any clues on this subject, so we do not expect new macbooks or iPads with an Apple M5, for example.
There is a persistent rumor about an updated Apple HomePod, perhaps with an integrated screen. This would make sense for WWDC 2025 because a new screen means new possibilities for developers to load applications. If there is an announced equipment next week, it would be my highest bet.
No apologies about Apple AI, and no backup
If you think that Apple Intelligence did not go well, you are right, but I would not expect that the admitted as much, and that will certainly not apologize for any of the missteps so far. In fact, I expect that we will see apples forward with the features of AI at all levels of each operating system.
We will get Apple Intelligence on the Apple Watch, as well as more AI on the iPhone, iPad and MacBooks. The real question is whether Apple will continue to promise the same features that have never been materialized – Siri’s ability to read your email and your personal information and provide you with tailor -made advice – or if there will be a new direction, perhaps with new partnerships to fill Apple’s capacity shortcomings.
I think the latter is very likely, because the developers at the moment are the means to integrate existing applications and features with AI. It is logical for Apple to associate itself more closely with companies outside of Openai, while it continues to try to build its own IA infrastructure.
No Saint Grail, nor on your wrist or your face
I expect Apple to talk about Apple’s health progress on Apple Watch, but I don’t expect new dramatic capacities to be announced. We will not see improvements in glucose monitoring, for example, or new material that can measure metabolic rates in a non -invasive manner.
Apple still has a lot of catch -up to do on its watch equipment. Google’s OS Wear watches and its partners have added features such as Zero Pulse Detection as well as more AI features, and the battery life continues to climb on the side of wear wear. Apple was a little stagnant with its Watchos progress.
I wouldn’t expect new facial clothes either. No update on Apple Vision Pro and not new Apple Vision products. It is possible that we obtain improved controls for vision pro, and perhaps even real joystick controllers, but no new platform like XR Smart Lunes.
