Meta rushed to integrate her assistant Meta Ai into all her properties, including WhatsApp. Now, it seems that the technology giant extends the strategy with a dedicated widget, as discovered for the first time byWabetainfo. This comes after WhatsApp has expanded Meta Ai from a floating action button to an integration of search bar, then the cat tag which allows you to add it to the group cat.
The widget will give you access to one in search of text, a camera for image -based queries and a vocal entrance for hands -free interactions. Whether it is useful or something bulky your home screen depends on the quantity you really want for an AI assistant to be integrated into your email application.
The idea is that instead of going to Chatgpt or perplexity, you can shoot Meta Ai in WhatsApp and draw a question without having to open the application first, because it is just from a widget. Whether practical or boring probably depends on your disposal. There have been complaints concerning the meta-ai too intrusive, so making it more deeply integrated is a questionable decision of Meta.
Whether this addition is useful or another AI experience in search of a problem will probably depend on the quantity you really need to talk to Meta IA.
Fortunately, if you fall into the camp “No thank you”, you can deactivate it entirely by going to the settings> cats and tilted from the Meta AI button. At least for the moment, withdrawal is always an option.
As Meta bets big on the integration of AI, WhatsApp is a target of choice simply because of its massive user base. If even a fraction of its billions of users begins to use Meta AI casually, it is a victory for Meta in the battle for the domination of AI. But if users continue to deactivate the functionality or ignore it entirely, it could be another forgotten experience, such as Facebook’s attempt to make metavers one thing.
